It is not secret that Michelle Obama is possibly the most hated First Lady. She has been painted as a masculine angry black woman that has nothing better to do while yelling at others to eat right. She has been called many names, names like "Moochelle" and other racist, derogatory terms.
Despite all the constant hate she receives, Mrs. Obama was able to show her haters who was the real HBIC at the 2016 Democratic National Conference with her commencement speech.
Rolling it back a bit, the week before at the 2016 Republican National Conference, Melania Trump stole an entire speech that Michelle had written in 2008 for the Democratic National Conference. Mrs. Trump claims that none of "her" speech was plagiarized while many can disagree as the similarities are staggering.
With the plagiarism scandal, Michelle Obama's commencement speech brought together deeply divided Democrats and showed everyone the goals and dreams of the DNC. Her speech was powerful and highly enlightening, and it truly rings the greatest speech at the 2016 DNC. Michelle Obama's speech only demonstrated the skill it takes to write a speech so eloquent, that others (Melania Trump) are so willing to copy from.
Michelle Obama was a highly successful lawyer with an elite education from Princeton and Harvard law school. She also raised two virtuous and upright daughters with one of whom is attending Harvard. She has spearheaded the Let's Move! to address the challenge of childhood obesity and the Joining Forces initiative which was created to support veterans. She has also launched the Reach Higher program which encourages youth to seek education beyond high school and she also commenced the Let Girls Learn program which tried to help girls around the world to receive an education.
To those who say that Michelle Obama is stupid, and she is the worst First Lady, please reevaluate your life choices. Melania Trump clearly stole the speech from the 2008 DNC, and it shows how a lack of education and reliance on modeling (which was mostly nude) and marrying rich will bring nothing but shame to the role of First Lady.
I can barely fathom what a First Lady would look like with Melania Trump. Eleanor Roosevelt would be rolling in her grave if she knew we were taking giant strides backward for modern day feminism.
Michelle Obama was able to expose the differences between the Mrs. Trump and herself but more importantly, she gracefully recovered from the plagiarism scandal while showing her that an intelligent and successful black woman can be the First Lady.
