There are some exciting things happening at UNC Greensboro!
Michael Jordan's nephew, Justin Jordan, has announced that he decided to transfer to the University of North Carolina at Greensboro to play basketball. This original North Carolinian is headed back to the tar heel state to continue his collegiate basketball career. He formerly played for Milwaukee, which was preceded by his successful high school athletic career playing over 34 games and averaging 17-28 points, three rebounds, eight assists and four steals per game. Due to some the NCAA transfer rules, Jordan will have to sit out until the season of 2016-2017.
Not only is Justin the nephew of Michael Jordan, his dad played for the World Basketball League for the Chicago Express. It's safe to say that ballin' runs in the family, don't you think? Having proved his abilities throughout high school and his time at University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, Jordan is headed to the G to show what he can do.
The students are so excited to welcome the "Heir" Jordan to our campus! Michael Jordan did not have a strong start to his basketball career. Remembering the story of Michael Jordan, we can see a bright future in store for Justin. Kaitlynne, a junior at UNC-Greensboro shares, "Michael Jordan went to the high school across the street from the house I grew up in, where he couldn't make it onto the Junior Varsity team. It's incredible to see history repeat itself with his nephew coming to my college because the Jordan family was such a huge influence on our hometown of Wilmington." Possibly the most recognizable name in the basketball industry was once a high school student longing for a spot on the team.
Justin Jordan states, "I wasn't that good. But over the years I've gotten better and better. A lot of my game resembles him," in reference to his uncle.
Keep on keeping on, Justin!
