Each year, fashion's biggest names come out to play as the Met Gala takes center stage in New York City. Hosted by Vogue, Anna Wintour and multiple co-chairs, this is a huge night for fashion. This year, the theme was "Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology," and the looks by some were exciting and daring, from Beyonce to Florence Welch. Out of the all of the looks from the event, here are my top six!
1. Taylor Swift
This is everything. Could you imagine Taylor sporting this look five years ago? Most definitely not. With her bleached hair, black lips and sequin Louis Vuitton dress, you would have never guessed she was at one point a country artist. Not only does her dress match the theme perfectly, she is breaking out of her shell and going for more edgy looks.
2. Zayn Malik
I'm obsessed with Zayn's suit! Men's fashion is something that can become repetitive, especially in the suit and tuxedo department. It's refreshing to see a fun twist for this fashionable evening, as Zayn is dressed in Versace.
3. Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West
Now I know what you're probably thinking. They look like Justin and Britney at the American Music Awards back in 2001, and they somehow do. That being said, this is a modern take on that. With Kim's bleached eyebrows while wearing Balmain, and Kayne in Fear of God with colored contacts, they have transformed into the new Justin and Britney.
4. Claire Danes
The modern take on Cinderella, in my opinion. Designed by Zac Posen with organza and fiber optics, which allowed the dress to light up, Claire Danes is the belle of the ball.
5. Jaden and Willow Smith
Why are they so cool? The Smith siblings aren't afraid to be themselves, and it's wonderful to see. Willow wears Chanel and Christian Louboutin shoes, and Jaden is wearing Louis Vuitton.
6. Emma Watson
She may be done with Hogwarts, but her days of bewitching us on red carpet are far from over. This year, Emma's look is made from recycled materials, as her pants are made from recycled plastic bottles. In a video with CNN International, Emma explains that her main focus was that she would be able to re-wear the pieces in the future.
