As a little girl, I always loved playing sports and getting involved in different activities that involved being on a team. When I moved to Maryland from New York I got more involved in sports other than soccer. Once I got into high school I decided to become a 3 season athlete where I played soccer, indoor track and field, and lacrosse. After my freshman year of high school, I decided I wanted to play a sport in college. I always saw myself playing college soccer but then I fell in love with lacrosse.
After getting involved in Club Lacrosse I realized this is what I wanted to do. Once signing my National Letter of Intent to play Division 1 Women's Lacrosse at Delaware State University I didn't know what to think. I always heard people say to make sure you stay focused and keep up with your work or you won't be able to keep up with everything, and coming from someone who never really studied or had to worry about having time management, college was a wake-up call. Keeping everything organized and balancing my daily schedule was very difficult. My schedule involved waking up early to go to lifting, going to classes all day directly afterwards, having two-hour practices after all of that and then two hours of study hall daily. It was very stressful, but also had its perks.
So for all those high school athletes who want to play a college sport, start doing everything you would do in college now, because once you get into college it will make everything 10 times easier.
