To 'The Transformed Wife,'

Saying that "men prefer debt-free virgins without tattoos" is like asking Build-A-Bear workshop for a template. That article was an absolute insult to all men. Advocating that women should not go to college and sit around for a man to come and lead her is the opposite of what previous generations of women have worked so hard for. Today we have plenty of qualified women who are CEOs, Managers, and Influencers to both men and women. We have bold women that are trying to break down gender barriers and overcome the adversity they were born into simply because of their gender.

We have lovely and caring single-mothers that work hard in the child's life, the classroom, and the workplace. Women, mothers, ladies, females, however, you want to label them are beautiful, kind, and strong creations. To set such a burden of a standard on anyone is humiliating and intolerable. As kids, we are told to express ourselves and learn from our mistakes. That is what shapes you and makes you better.

Now, on the other hand being a debt-free virgin without tattoos is nothing to be ashamed of. There is no pressure to rush into anything and your life can still be full of love and wondrous things. You should not feel belittled or be belittled by anyone because of your status. Cause as you evolve you will find in someone what you couldn't find in yourself.

Do not feed into this notion that a "good" girl is the way to go. A debt-free virgin without tattoos can still be as deceiving as an in debt non-virgin with eight tattoos is. Heartbreaks can and will still happen no matter who the person is. The growth is what that matters not the criteria. As the old saying goes, it's about the journey not so much the destination.

Women, of all ages, continue to stay bold and confident in your body. Do not feel shackled by the criteria's that the world has set. Unbound yourself from the rest and you truly realize that you are unique, wanted, and beautiful.

Men, of all ages, continue to stand firm and fortify yourself as you wait patiently. Do not get riled by the standard's that the world wants to set for us. Free yourself from the rest and you will truly realize that you are unique, wanted, and powerful.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
