How many of you have seen this "Jellybean" video that has been floating around Facebook?
The video basically highlights how each jelly bean represents one day of the average person's life. After you take out certain things you can't control (i.e. sleep, eating, sitting in traffic and so on), you don't have as many jelly beans as you think you do. The whole point of the video is to make you realize how important it is to live in the present and stop worrying about the small stuff. Go out, and live your life. Go out, and do it for the memories.
"Do it for the memories!" was a term coined by one of my friends at school. The phrase managed to convince me to go out and experience a night that I'll never forget. Ever since that night, "Do it for the memories!" has become a running joke but also a motivator to live life to the fullest. Do it for the memories is a lesson to all. Go out ,and live your life with no excuses. You'll rarely remember the nights spent in versus the nights when you experienced those memories you'll never forget.
Life is too short to not being doing it for the memories, quite honestly. It is too short to constantly being worrying about things that don't matter. Too short to be wasting time doing something you aren't absolutely in love with. Spend time with people you love. Spend time with those who make you happy. Laugh at everything. Take a leap of faith. Don't pretend to be someone you're not. Be exactly who you are. Don't hold back. Don't sweat the small stuff. Put down your phone, and just enjoy every single second, because you never know how many you have left.
So, what are you going to do with the rest of your "jellybeans"? Are you going to spend them overthinking something that won't matter in the long run or are you going to do it for the memories and make them count?
