With all the controversy centered around Melania Trump's plagiarism of Michelle Obama's speech, it made me wonder: Why isn't the media crucifying her the same way they've done Michelle Obama? In my opinion, it seems that Melania Trump is the complete opposite of what a future FLOTUS is supposed to be, yet nobody is even saying a word. Let's not sit silent, let's point out some of the reasons why Melania Trump should not be the First Lady.
Donald Trump has made numerous accusations about President Obama's citizenship and publicly asked to see his birth certificate. Ironically enough, Trump's campaign has been based on immigration, and many people agree with his views. So, why hasn't anyone pointed out that his wife isn't actually American? In fact, she literally became an American citizen 10 years ago in 2006. I wonder when Donald Trump was talking about immigrants stealing, did he think about his wife?
As the first black FLOTUS, Michelle Obama was subject to various forms of criticism. One of the biggest things I remember was her attire. In 2012, Conservative Republicans from all across the nation criticized her for wearing sleeveless dresses and even talked about how strong her arms looked. Now, four years later everybody ignores Mrs. Trump and how she got her claim to fame. How "conservative" are you if you're okay with half nude photo's of Melania but frown at the idea of Michelle doing push-ups on the floor? I'm pretty sure that's not conservative. I think the word you're looking for is hypocrite.
I'm also curious to know, why nobody has called her a gold digger yet? I'm sure there a few conservatives who believe Michelle is an opportunist, yet nobody has said the same for Melania. She's not even his first wife. She's actually his third. I'm sure somewhere in her speech there was something about hard work, but she wasn't even there when Trump had to "start from the bottom" by receiving a $1 million loan from his father. How much love can money really buy?
Last but certainly not least, why aren't more people outraged by the acts of plagiarism she recently committed at the Republican National Convention? She copied two paragraphs from Michelle Obama's speech in 2008 and then proceeded to lie about it. Maybe some people may think that it's not that big of deal, but as a recent college graduate, I know the serious consequences of plagiarism. If Melania had uploaded her speech on Safe Assign, she would have quickly received a failing grade and possibly been kicked out of school.
I'm not saying that we should continue to bash women, but the bottom line is we should look a little more closely. This woman has even lied about graduating from college. If we can drag Candy Carson (Dr. Ben Carson's wife) for filth for her looks and choice of attire then we can certainly say something about Melania Trump's background and character. At least Mrs. Carson is an accomplished musician. This year's election seems to be based on whether or not a woman should actually be president. Just make sure you don't forget about Melania and what her position as FLOTUS would mean to the rest of the world.
