This is me

(I like food- have you seen my default pic on Muse? Thanks to our ME, Chris, for pointing that one out.)

But this is also me

(Part-time plur baby)

I'm your new EIC!

I'm (obviously) more than just a name on a screen. Someone's fingers had to type this, right?

I'm more than a little box that says EIC edited.

(But I also am the box that says EIC edited...)

Since I get to read about your stories, passions and interests every week, here's your look into my life.

Fun fact:

I have a child.

No, not this kind of child....

This kind of child!

Meet Ella!

Ella is the most cuddly almost-3-year-old you've ever met!

Her hobbies include staring out the window, butt sniffing (dogs' mostly) and giving kisses (especially up the nose.)

This is my boyfriend Maxwell.

Future veterinarian.

Studly, right?

Before starting USF, I went to high school nearby, in East Lake!

Making my family's fridge a convenient 45 minutes away.

Speaking of family, this is my family:

I guess the whole food infatuation thing runs in the family!

Apparently lot's of things are hereditary.

The other week I posted a picture of my family on Facebook and someone comments:

"I guess the RBF is hereditary."

If you don't know what RBF is, check out one of the Kardashian's faces or click your way on over to urbandictionary.com. I really can't be using my platform to explain things like that.

Anyways, so like I said, now I'm at USF!

Go Bulls!

I'm a Criminology major, halfway through my junior year.

Hint to my life after graduation:

I'll be spending 2017 studying for the LSAT.

Yup, law school!

I'm interested in criminal law, specifically on the side of the defense.

You know, O.J. Simpson type of thing.

Despite the fact that I've alluded to the Kardiashians twice, I'm really not all that into them; I promise.

Despite all the naggy text you might have gotten in the few days of my stepping into this role, I promise I'm not a cranky old lady!

I'm super excited to start learning about you all and reading your pieces.

Lastly, thanks Tampa creators for reading!

Drop me some comments and let's get to know each other.

I mean, we're suppose to be a community, right?!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
