There were many different topics on my mind at the time of writing this, but I had to keep them all kind of a mystery...

Hello, dear friends! I've been itching lately for a spell of some more creative writing so I thought I'd bring that to the table for you all. I wouldn't necessarily call myself a poet, but I do enjoy at least trying to create them from time to time. The poem I have to share today has a couple of different meanings to me and a number of different subjects that are focused on, yet in a way, they all take up similar emotions for me. Some are more elevated and diverse, while others are more simplified. Anyway, I hope you enjoy what I'd like to call a poem and find some kind of meaning for yourself to take away from it.

Serendipity

I'm dancing in a serendipitous daydream

A mystery carries me to sweet wonder

There's too much around to see,

So much to decipher on my own like hieroglyphics,

But where exactly am I going?

I see you concealed in there,

Unintentionally hiding perfectly behind trees

Where the birds sing their melodies,

Swishing into thin air when you were right there,

So accessible, yet also out of touch.

I'm dancing in a serendipitous daydream.

How am I to find you?

How do I talk to you?

I want to know more.

I need to know more.

Oftentimes I ponder this anomaly

And lose track of where I am and

Where I ought to be, but you see,

There's so much intrigue

It's always easy for others, but what can I do to discover?

I'm dancing in a serendipitous daydream

My feet pace the corridor

Almost daily

Like clockwork

Why am I here every hour of the day?

Looking across the shore

I think I see you once more

Oh no

Time to panic

What do I say? What do I do?

I'm dancing in a serendipitous daydream

There's just so much to long for, you see?

Your spirit tells a story in a way,

You're the main character here today

Let me hear what you want. Let me hear your story.

Opening up is easy for the socialite bees,

But not for me.

How can I work my way up?

I'm stuck.

Others do it so pristine, how can I get to your level?

Come out from the trees and the thin air.

Tell me how to get there.

I feel a connection somewhere and I can only long to capture it.

Maybe we'll get there someday, but for now

All I can do is keep trying.

I'm dancing in a serendipitous daydream.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
