5 Ways To Make Your Stay-At-Home Days Better

Spending over four months at home can definitely get overwhelming. The first several weeks, it was easier to stay positive, but as months go by it just feels endless. Here are some tips for you to stay productive at home!

Get Ready Every MorningĀ

Most of us, including myself, spend most of the day in comfy clothes because "we aren't going anywhere." However, we need to make our days count. One way of doing it is to get ready! Do your makeup to bump your confidence, or maybe just skincare. It's essential to take care of ourselves mentally and physically during these times. Even changing out of your pajamas can help! Another way to get ready is to clean up your room. Since you will most likely be spending a lot of time in it.

Stay Active

I realized that for me, the easiest way to keep a positive mindset is to workout. Sometimes being physically active can help unravel your thoughts. There are so many different activities you can do: going for a walk around your neighborhood, biking, yoga, or just join a workout challenge to keep yourself motivated! A lot of influencers are trying out Chloe Ting's workout challenges. If you need an extra push and a structured routine, I would definitely recommend you check it out!

Plan Your Day

By planning your day using an agenda or a to-do list, you can hold yourself accountable for those things you need to do. Sometimes it feels like just because we are staying at home, our days are endless and redundant. You can add some structure and create a routine by simply keeping track of your daily activities. In it, you can also add your different workouts for each day of the week, meals you may want to try out, and daily goals.

Find New Hobbies

Now is the perfect time to try out those things that may have interested you but you never had time to. Our daily life before the pandemic might have been too busy because work and/or school, but now... you have plenty of time to find new hobbies. Find something that lets you relax and find positivityā€” it could be painting, reading, cooking, gardening, or anything at all!

Call Your Loved Ones

The hardest part of staying at home has been not being able to see my loved onesā€” friends and family. Today, there are so many different options to stay in touch with them from FaceTime to Zoom. It's important to remind everyone of the special place they have in our lives. By calling them, you can also set times to have movies nights through Zoom or any other activities that you would have done with them.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine.
