It's a well-known fact that I love makeup. Some might even say that I'm a makeup junkie, and I would agree with them. So enjoy the following statements that makeup junkies hate hearing.

1. "You don't need makeup."

I know I don't need makeup.

2. "I would never spend that much on makeup."

I said that once too, and look where I am now. Hashtag Sephora is my life.

3. "You wear too much makeup."

Okay, and your point is what?

4. "Your makeup looks just fine."

Never, I repeat, never tell this to a girl that just said that she messed up her makeup. It's not believable.

5. "I don't wear makeup; I don't need it."

I'm sorry, did I ask if you wear makeup or not? I don't need makeup either, I just like to feel put together for the day.

6. "How much money do you spend on makeup?"

Enough.

7. "How do you do your makeup for a special event?"

I wear six eyeshadows instead of two. That's how.

8. "You're just wearing makeup to get attention from guys."

That would be where you are wrong, my friend, very wrong. I wear makeup for myself and only myself. Thank you.

9. "Where did you learn how to do that?"

Ancient Chinese secret.

10. Hearing "you look sick" when not wearing makeup.

You are the reason why some people have self-confidence issues. Just be lucky I'm comfortable with my sickly pale skin.

11. "How does your skin deal with all of that?"

Just like I have an everyday makeup routine, I also have a skin routine that I use to take care of my skin. Duh.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
