Sure, you have probably heard of Toms and their policy of donating a pair of shoes to a child in need when you purchase a pair. But there are many other companies that do make similar contributions that you probably have never heard of and together they offer a much larger variation in products than just shoes and clothes.
1. MiiR
This company offers bicycles, water bottles, and bags that fund bikes, water projects (like wells), and educational projects respectively. A really nice feature of this business is that the products come with a code that can be registered online and then after a 6-month wait you will receive an email to let you know where your purchase went to helping people around the world.
2. SoapBox
This company offers amazing hand soap, dish soap, body wash, shampoos, and conditioners that come in awesome colors and scents. Like MiiR products, SoapBox products come with a code that can be entered online to determine where in the world your purchase is making a difference. Each purchase from Soapbox provides someone with a bar of clean soap or a month of clean water!
3. Feed Projects
This company offers a diverse selection of bags that depending on the particular product donate a different number of meals to a different a child in need. Whether you need a new purse, backpack, or beach bag, this company is definitely one I would check out!
4. Janji
If you’ve been on a run this summer you likely know what it is to be thirsty, at least until you can make it back to your house and get your water bottle. Imagine feeling like that all the time and having no way to quench that thirst with clean water. Janji is trying to change that in our own backyards in the US as well as in multiple countries around the world. They are doing so through a portion of each piece of running apparel going towards these water projects. It is a great cause and new running clothes are always a wonderful way to get motivated to start a workout plan or revamp one that may be dwindling due to these hot summer days!
5. Wear Panda
This company sells sunglasses, another very useful purchase for this summer. These sunglasses collect their very unique brand name as they are all constructed of bamboo. When a pair of their sunglasses are purchased, an eye exam and a pair of prescription glasses are provided to someone in need.
All in all, as you reach the end of the summer and realize you have money from your summer job you need to burn, think about purchasing some products from companies that give back to both our national and international communities. That way you will be gathering some amazing products and helping others out!
