Photobook is the art of making memories tangible

When We Make PhotoBook We Make Love.

The digital age of photography has changed the way we view photographs in our day to day lives. All of your precious memories can now be viewed at the swipe of a finger in almost any setting and at any time. But with the amount we use our phones, looking back on those memorable moments has lost some of its charm when we're trying to scroll through the plethora of do-overs, accidental shots, and random photos of our pets splattered among the rest. To bring back a little more of that nostalgic feeling, and to make reminiscing of your good times something more special, why not make your own photo book? Create something more personal for those family trips or special occasions that mean so much to you, and that you can treasure long after your phone has since upgraded five more versions. Seal your happiness and images in time while adding your own creative flare to how they are displayed by building your very own photobook. Follow the tips below to expertly make your next photo book the best one you own.

Choose only your best (or favorite) shots

This should be a collection of the highlights of your chosen subject, so make sure you choose images that count. If you have any doubts on how the picture will look blown up, or if looking at it doesn't immediately spark a reaction in you, maybe it's best left out. They don't have to be absolutely perfect, however, depending on the angle you are going for. Maybe that slightly blurred photograph of your son jumping into a pool on vacation isn't professional-grade sharp, but it carries through it all the fun you had on that trip and is something that you look back on fondly. In those instances, it could be worth throwing it in the mix.

Arrange them with Purpose

Don't just put your memories in any old order, make it make sense! And make sure that it is intentional to create a final product that is extra special. It could simply be in chronological order, showing your memories as they happened in real time, or if not, maybe it's in the order leading up to your absolute favorite image in a good-old fashioned countdown to number one. Whatever way you decide to take yourself and others through your booklet, just do it with purpose and the rest will fall into place.

Captions Add Context

If there's something just off frame of your picture that is making the individual crack up, or if the surprised reaction in the photo is in reference to something worth noting, add it in! Years from now, when you look back on this you may not recall every detail as you do currently. Adding in snippets of information as you go through will not only make your book feel more personal, but also could bring other memories to surface too making it all the more enjoyable to look at for years to come.

There are tons of places online that you can turn to to help you get your very own keepsake put together, but each one has different benefits. Blacks, for example, has an easy to understand process and is also a budget friendly option. If you want something more refined, Iphoto's books come printed like something you'd find at the top of an expensive penthouse coffee table. And finally, for those looking for a template approach, Printique allows you to upload your pictures and places them in an already formatted book for you. All you need to do is tweak to your liking.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
