It’s February and that means Black History Month, and what better way to kick off one of the best months, by talking about some girls with that Black Girl Magic that run their world. I couldn't fit all of the magical black girls on here, but there is no order of who is the best or the worst, they are all females out to change our world and won't take no for an answer. Get ready to be slayed.

1. Beyoncé

What is a list of people who run the world without her? Last year she dropped one of the best albums with songs that made all black girls want to get in formation and let their men know that if he cheated on her, then he better just goes better go back to her.

2. Viola Davis

First African American Woman to be nominated for an Oscar three times, she became the first African American Woman to win an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama, she was the first actor to get a star on the walk of fame in the year 2017, she’s also known to just slay in everything she wear on or off the red carpet. She’s always speaking out for other women of color, one of my favorite quotes by her is “The only thing that separates women of color from anyone else is opportunity.” Such a magical girl.

3. Zendaya

There are some people that when you see them doing anything, it just slays you. Zendaya is that person for me, I am not afraid to call her my role model because she’s a strong female who isn’t afraid to reach out to help others or to tell future world changers what they should know before they go out into the world.

4. Lunella Lafayette

I didn’t say all these ladies are from our “world” Lunella Lafayette is one of the smartest people in the marvel comic, she’s nine years old and in those nine years, besides being an elementary student, she’s also an inventor, engineer, and a superhero with a dinosaur (no Biggy).

5. Harriet Tubman

There shouldn’t be a single person in American who doesn’t know about this powerful and important woman. While she may not be the first resistance fighters, however, she’s sort of the Princess/General Leia of the resistance. In fact, a show called the underground, just show the first look at her for season 2! I haven’t watched the show yet (I have twenty other shows waiting to be watched), but hopefully, it doesn’t change her to fit what people want her to be.

6. Rosa Parks

If anyone ever tells you, no one will change the world by sitting, they may have never heard of Rose Parks. While she shouldn't just be known for sitting, she’s one of many important activists that have lived in our world and her impacted is still strong and should never be forgotten for what she has done for this world.

7. Marley Dias

This girl is going places! What did she do you may ask? She wanted to collect books starring Black females as the lead characters (Something I wish I could have when I was younger) Here's a link to an article about her. Also as of this year, she's lined up for a book deal! This little girl is magical and everyone should look up to her!!

While there are so many more, I want to leave you with this one request. For the rest of Black History Month, for everyday, learn about a different black woman or man. You may never know what theses magical people have been up to but they never get the credit or even could be remembered by people for who know's why. You can spend the rest of this month knowing a whole lot more

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
