MADtv is a comedy sketch series inspired by the Mad magazine. It ran for 14 seasons and 321 episodes starting in 1995. Popular sketches to be created through this series were ones such as: Stuart Larkin, Miss Swan, Dot Goddard, Lorraine Swanson, Miss Sylvia and the Vancome Lady. On December 11, 2015, it was announced that MADtv would have a reunion special celebrating its 20th anniversary on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 8 p.m. on the CW. Who will be returning for this one-night reunion? The returning cast includes: Ike Barinholtz, Alex Borstein, Mo Collins, Crista Flanagan, Anjelah Johnson, Nicole Randall Johnson, Keegan-Michael Key, Phil LaMarr, Artie Lange, Bobby Lee, Michael McDonald, Arden Myrin, Nicole Parker, Eric Price, Will Sasso, Aries Spears, Nicole Sullivan, Stephnie Weir and Debra Wilson. If this doesn't get you super excited, then maybe a look back at some of the sketches from MADtv will!
Stuart
Stuart was a fan favorite because, unfortunately, we all knew that bratty kid growing up. This is the kid that always ran around screaming, "Look what I can do!" and pulling stunts just to get attention. In this sketch, Stuart's mother has been called to the school for a parent-teacher conference. We all know that that's never a good sign.
Miss Swan
Who could possibly dislike Miss Swan? She is that one crazy person we always knew existed in our hometown growing up come to life and multiplied by a thousand. In this sketch, Miss Swan has her first experience at Starbucks. As you can imagine, Starbucks is confusing for this petite, humorous character.
Dot Goddard
Dot Goddard was one of my personal favorites on MADtv. Dot always said what was on her mind, and that was always enough for a comedy sketch. In this sketch, Dot has been entered into a beauty pageant by her father (who is always trying to get rid of her) and she is far from being the front-runner for the judges, but she will always be a favorite for the crowd.
Airport Security
"Airport Security" hits home with any of us that have experienced an actual security check before boarding a flight. If you have never experienced this firsthand, check out this video and experience in a comedic way.
Can I Have Your Number
Oh, here it is. "Can I Have Your Number" set off a viral movement for single guys everywhere to constantly ask girls for their cell phone numbers (if that didn't already happen). No, single girls, you cannot go anywhere without being asked, "Can I have your number?" That would still be true if we didn't have Tinder.
Bon Qui Qui at King Burger
I'm pretty sure Bon Qui Qui brought tons of revenue in for Burger King. That's all I have to say on this one.
Drama Queens 101
We all know drama queens, but did you know that MADtv created a class that studies how to become one? Stephnie Weir channels her inner teacher in this sketch. Watch and try not to laugh!
Oprah
Wait, is this really Oprah? No, it can't be. Debra Wilson could definitely fool us!
I hope some of these videos have gotten you as excited as I am for the reunion. Be sure to watch it all go down on January 12th at 8 p.m. on The CW!
