Lyme, you can't kill me.

Part 1: The Sickness

Part 2: The Healing

Part 3: The After

In part 1 I shared about my my first 9 years with Lyme disease, but now I want to go into when I actually started healing, feeling better, and seeing that there was indeed hope to be fully healed.

As I mentioned before. I was 17 years old, soon going on 18, and we were at a complete loss. I had been going through the motions of being sick, and dealing with a butt load of symptoms. We were tired of seeing Doctors, they did all they said they could do. We tried many things to combat these issues, but nothing seemed to help. I was eating a ton, trying to keep my weight up, but it just kept dropping. Every single day, I was dealing with some sort of pain, or effects. I knew God would never just say, "this is as much as I can do." I knew He wanted to heal me, it was just going to be different than I had thought.

I grew up in the church, and have experienced amazing miraculous miracles. In others lives, as well as my own. I can't even begin to tell you how many times people prayed for me, and nothing happened... At least in the physical. I know now though, that every single prayer was heard, as well as answered. The Lord made it clear, that this healing wasn't going to come miraculously on the spot- but it is going to be a process.

Through prayer, we decided to take an approach that is not super typical. A natural, holistic approach. I started seeing a Natural Chiropractor who is know for helping Lyme patients the natural way. I remember being extremely afraid... I had done the Doctor thing before, and I was tired of them saying I had mental problems, and it was all in my head- this time it was different. As I lay on the table as tests were being read, I couldn't help by start crying in relief when I heard the results. The results were not good. I was fully infected with the horrible disease, as well as a bunch of other illnesses. My stomach was pretty much furious, and my body was wasting away. I cried in relief though, because finally- we heard answers, and finally, there might be something that could help- without all the medications that added to this disease.

That day I found out I had: Lyme disease was still showing up in my body, as well as other diseases associated from a deer tick, my body was complicated by Dysbiosis and severe Candidiasis, Leaky Gut, these lead into food intolerances and serious allergies, toxicity, hormonal dysregulation, Babesia and Ricketsia which is a tick borne illness was showing up as well, inflamed gut, adrenal problems, toxic liver, gallbladder issues, inflamed small and large intestine, bowel toxicity, thyroid issues, unable to absorb food, and protein. and other concerns.

It was very comforting as well as overwhelming when this information was given to us. Like I said, I had relief knowing that I wasn't just phycho and making it up, I actually had extreme problems! The first of many steps was to be tested on supplements, I was on SO many, I had a regimen schedule that I had to stay on. I was constantly stetting timers between pills and eating, counting my protein intake, and trying to find the foods I am not allergic to. Right away, I was down to a couple grains, meat, and veggies...and absolutely no sugar, even from fruit because of how severe my Candidiasis was. My body immediately went into a rough detox, I experienced sweating, headaches, body odor, pains, and other things that felt like I was going through a ringer. The supplements changed as my body healed every week. Everyone of the things I was on seemed to bring on a different detoxing symptom- but let me tell you- it felt good. During the healing and detoxing stage, I looked sicker than i ever had, thinner than I ever was, and I definitely would consider it my all time low. But, I could feel the illnesses being flushed out and removed from my body, at times it was inward, other times it would come out in my stools (YUCK). It was a hard road, that could only be done through perseverance and strength from Jesus. I remember after I removed the food I was allergic to, how good I felt. I had no idea that your stomach wasn't supposed to hurt. I had gotten immune to the pain, until the pain was taken away.

It took a good 3-6 months before we started seeing significant improvement. The inward was being healed before it was visible on the outward. Soon, my face started to gain color again, my eyes were white and the color was vibrant, my hair was growing in thicker, and organs started to turn back on in my body. Symptoms were dropping off left and right. Dyslexia I was hardly ever noticing, my body temperature was regulating, achey body was totally out of site, as well as many other of the symptoms that I was told I would have forever. My body was finally given the support it needed in order to heal, and without all the harsh antibiotics. All I know now is that the human body is an amazing creation. I saw just how intricate God created it, and just how beautifully it is designed to work. In August 2015, my body finally went into self healing mode. I was on normal vitamins, and my body no longer needed the extra support. At this time, I had gotten some foods back after my stomach healed, but still suffered a great deal from food allergies, as well as sensitivities to smells. As for all the tests that came back, I had none of those. I was free of Lyme, as well as the other illnesses. It was still going to be a fight and a long road, my adrenals were still being stubborn, as well as my stomach and hormones... But God had His hand on the timing all along, just in time for Him to CLEARLY call me out to California to college!

*Stay tuned for Part 3: The After, to hear about what I am dealing with now, as well as trusting God, and moving 2400 miles away to college, while my body was recovering from 10 years of a Chronic Illness.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
