The difference between loving where you work and working where you work is simple. When you walk into work, you want to feel as if you can say hi to almost everyone you see. Sure, some people work in offices, some work construction, some work in hospitals and many other jobs, but you should be able to say good morning or good afternoon to most of your peers at work. Although, there's a grace period on Monday mornings; nobody wants to be at work on Monday mornings.
Another monumental difference between loving where you work and working where you work is that it is statistically proven that people will be more active and creative at their job if they spend time loving and enjoying what they're currently tasked with. Think about it this way: if you hated your job, would you really care to do any of the work? No, right? Or if you only worked to bring home the bacon, that would be your single focus at the job thus leading you to eventually dislike the job.
A personal example, last summer I worked at a restaurant called Duchess. I really thought it was a solid gig when I walked in the door, but then I started spending some time working. They had me clean the bathrooms every other hour, sweep the parking lot, and do all the intensive labor no one else wanted to do. I actually began to hate the job within no time. But the difference between me and the guy that worked alongside me is that he actually appreciated the job he worked and felt lucky to have it. Now i'm not bashing myself for hating working there, but people anywhere are either used to working very hard or working hard. Sometime's to actually appreciate where you work is to work hard for what you want. I for instance was just there trying to make a few bucks before another semester of college started grow my savings account balance. I'm sure many of you already saw, but recently on the major app known as Snapchat there was a snap story sponsored known as "Office Olympic Games". Now as dweebish as that sounds, it also sounds pretty freakin' awesome. Like whoever participates most definitely loves the job they work. I'm sure the people reading this including myself would absolutely love to work where they do to participate in those games.
So to end this spiel, I wanted to let everyone know the true definition of loving where you work. Working where you love means to walk into the office or behind the counter or wherever with a smile on your face and leaving with one as well. It also means going to work to be productive, to know that the more you accomplish, the more you'll earn and better you will be.
