Today was an extremely hard day for me and my boyfriend. Today, we lost our sweet and precious 2-year-old pit bull, Gracie. It was a very hard day for us because we had so much love in our hearts for her, and because she showed us what life is all about.
She was a great dog, she was loving, and always so excited when someone came to see her. She was a mess, a pig-pen, and extremely happy. She was so hard-headed, hyper, and goofy, yet she gave us more joy than we ever see in the world. Gracie was a lover, not a fighter; she was truly not just a dog, but she was a friend, she was family. Gracie showed us more love than any person ever shows, and she was taken from this harsh world way too soon.
Gracie was full of life, and she was the silliest dog we have ever known. Dogs are truly man's best friends because they can show a person that even when things get tough, everything will be okay. Dogs make you happy; even if they are mad at you for yelling when they have an accident, they still love you and they are always there to greet you when you get home. Dogs are "man's best friend" because they do what a true friend should do. Dogs check on you when you are hurt, protect you at all costs, and they love you unconditionally. Dogs are very important to have in life because the love their owners more than life itself.
Therefore, dogs are man's best friend because they show humans that we need to enjoy life while we get to live it. I am very saddened that heartworms got the best of our sweet Gracie, yet I am extremely grateful for the time we got to share with her, and I will never forget her.
"Dogs may only be in our world for a short time, but for their whole life, we are their world."
