Ever since we learned the two presidential candidates were going to be for this election people were nervous. People were nervous because many felt that neither of the two would prove to be good presidential candidates. There was some prediction of what would happen if Trump won the election but I don’t know if anyone was prepared for day one after the election.
Day one after the election and a black woman’s car was spray painted, and many people were on social media talking about how if it was okay for Trump to grab a woman by her genitals, then it was okay for them too. Many minority children and families are afraid that Mr. Trump will deport them back to where they came from even though they were born and raised here. There is so much fear in this country than ever before. The fear of the unknown is baffling to me. As a young woman in this country there are things that have really bothered me about the way that Mr. Trump talked about women. I am now wondering that since he was elected and talked about women that way, if others will now have that mentality as well.
On election day I was going through the line at Starbucks to get some coffee, and to my surprise the woman in front of me had paid for my order. I was shocked at the kindness I had just received especially on election day. But even though it does not seem like it now, there IS some good left in the world. There are lots of amazing people who will make a great impact on the world. This was one day, at one point in history that was not so great. There will be lots of bad days in the world but we all must be kind and love one another and we will get through this together. Although I did not vote for him, I wish all the best for Mr. Trump. I hope that he turns out to be a decent president because he is very soon going to be the captain of our ship, if he sinks we sink with him, and I don’t want that to happen to this great country.
