As the holiday for giving thanks rolls around I want to share a poem celebrating your natural self.
I myself have never been one for total self-love, I have my bad days everyone does. You should love who you are, you should celebrate who you are and have no qualms or shame about it.
You should also learn to be thankful for the skin you are in, you only have one body and you should not mistreat it, ever.
Being beautiful is as easy as being yourself, don't change or alter yourself in anyway for someone else.
Beauty is so much more than appearance.
The width of our waist,
The thickness of our thighs,
The shade of our skin,
The labels placed upon us by everyone,
Including ourselves.
None of this should matter,
but it is deemed so important by the world around us.
The mass of our brains that carry us to our futures,
The size of our hearts, beating in unison,
The unseen traits that make a person who they truly are.
These are what matter,
These are what should be important.
And if you continuously search for flaws,
You will miss the greatest of them all.
Stop wasting time hating yourself and take sometime to learn to love yourself.
Happy Holidays, remember to give thanks to those around you and yourself.
