I have completed my first two weeks of college at Rochester College and I couldn’t be more thankful for my decision. I commute to school but I can still feel the warm and kind community presence. While walking around campus, people will give you the warmest smiles. On my first day, I couldn’t find a classroom so I popped into the nearest classroom/office to ask for directions and she kindly offered to take me there without skipping a beat. I walked into class and a classmate of mine gave me such a kind smile and politely said “You always look so good” and that made my entire day more than I can even begin to explain.

I already feel closer to God, I’m taking Survey of Biblical Literature and it’s such a beautiful course that I’m happy to be taking. At the start of each day in my Beginning Algebra class, my professor asks if anybody would like to add someone to the prayer list, and then begin to pray. It’s something that I will forever remember and appreciate. It’s so beautiful to be surrounded by people who know God’s love. I wake up each morning excited to go to school and begin, having small classes where professors actually know your name is something that I now could never imagine a college experience without.

There is a special kind of love that exists at Rochester College; I have a few professors that attended the college, some before it was even named Rochester College. Their dedication to the school and their profession inspires me; I know that I will be walking away with an amazing degree.

This campus is a safe place, everyone loves and supports each other and there are groups and activities for everyone. It seems as though there is an unspoken rule of no judgement, people from all backgrounds and lifestyles walk around this campus and it makes me proud to be a Warrior. There are so many experiences that people at a large public, non-religiously affiliated school will never have, and for that I feel lucky.
