Why Edinboro Is The Perfect Small College
Erie News

Coming into college I was nervous, yet excited. I worried about if my roommates and I were going to get along, or how I was going to make friends. The day that I moved into college, all of my worries faded and I knew that this was the place for me. I never get tired of meeting new people, still, on a daily basis and could not be more thankful for the friends I have made. Here is a thank you to everyone I have met on this campus.

First, I would like to thank both who I call my friends or best friends. Thank you so many times for the countless memories that we made and that we will continue to make that will stick with us forever. Some of those we may never want to happen to us again, even though they do make for great stories to carry with us, even if they were not funny in the first place. All of you are like a second family to me. Whether it comes to eating almost every meal together, or spending countless hours in the library studying for big exams and stressing over other school related things, you guys have helped me keep my cool through everything. I would also like to thank you for being there when I need you. You taught me that when I no longer have the ability to believe in myself, I have you guys to push me along and help me get to where I want. Also thank you for never letting anything get in between us. Sure we get mad at each other, but it never lasts for more than a hour at the longest. You all continue to make my college experience here more than what I ask for. I honestly do not believe that I could survive college without you guys by my side.

Also, I would like to thank my professors. Some have helped me push my limits and shown me that I can do it, and also the professors I have gotten to known on a personal level. One professor that I would especially like to thank is the late Dr. Laythe. In his recent passing, I realized how amazing of a professor he truly was. He made me look forward to my 8 a.m. classes last semester, mostly because he was my favorite professor and he made us laugh all the time. Plus, he taught my favorite subject which is history. Also, I got know him on a personal level because I would go to this office hours and learn about his home life and his love for the University of Oregon and their mascot the Oregon Ducks. Dr. Laythe always gave great life lessons such as: "continue to challenge yourself, always have fun and seek to serve others." The one thing that stuck out to me that he always said was "It's all good." No matter how hard life can get, always focus on the little things , because some of the hardships that you have to face, you cannot control on your own.

I cannot thank Edinboro University enough for my first two fun-filled semesters that are coming to a close. This campus has blessed me with the best of friends someone ask for and the endless opportunities to meet new people.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
