Dear long distance best friend,
Despite the fact that you can't have wine nights 5 nights a week or binge watch Gossip girl with me, I still put you at the top of my list when it comes to who I text for advice or whenever I need to smile. People don't seem to get it, some may wonder how it's possible to hold more than one person to the title of your "best friend" but what they don't get is there are so many different types of BFF's. There's the "I love to get drunk with you" bff, the shoulder to cry on BFF, and the you are literally my bridesmaid BFF. My point is to tell you that not only can you fit into all of those categories but you also fit under the "You live 2700 miles away but when I have something important to share you're the first one I think of" type of BFF.
Thank you for understanding life gets busy and I sometimes don't have time to talk. You understand how hectic our lives can sometimes and don't get too upset if I don't return your texts right away. Not talking 24/7 made me appreciate our phone calls and FaceTime calls more than you can ever imagine.
My new friends ask about you and it's hilarious that you seem like such a small part of my life to them. You know all the embarrassing and sometimes shameful stories and secrets about me and I couldn't imagine a day you weren't the first person I ran to for anything and everything. Despite all the amazing people I have met, you still take 1st place.
Thank you for answering quickly when I text you a picture of an outfit in the dressing room patiently waiting for a necessary "yes" from you when it comes to buying ANYTHING. I think I'd be a lost soul without you in my life.
I miss you. I miss you when my ex texts me and I need a quick idea for a sassy response and you're not around to think of one. I miss you when I see a cute boy and really wish you were there to witness it yourself. Authentically, nobody could deal with us being roommates so maybe this long distance thing was meant to be.
Living far away from you makes our visits much more meaningful and our friendship so much stronger. I hope you know that no matter where we are, you have impacted my life in ways you cannot imagine. Because of you, no one will compare! Counting down the milliseconds until I see you again.
