Being a part of a sorority is like having 200+ extra family members that love you. However, arguably the most important relationship you'll have in your sorority is the one with your family. The ones older than you that claim you as their own, and the younger ones that you've decided need your guidance through these crazy four years, and on through life. As I leave for study abroad, one of the things I'll miss most is the unending stream of love and encouragement I get through my fam group text. So here's to you, fam, for putting up with my sketchy, always late, awkward self.
To my Grand-big,
Thank you for always having it together. You're the matriarch of our little clan and I couldn't be more thankful someone is around to make sure we all live through the night. Whether it be making us cookies for Christmas, making sure we all make it to formal in one piece, or encouraging us through terrible classes, I'm pretty sure none of us would be alive if it weren't for you. Thanks for being the closest thing to a grownup our family has got.
To my Big,
Foremost, thank you for being the one I can always talk to about anything. You may come off as tough, but in reality you are one of the most genuine and nicest people around. Thank you for always being the one who is down to party but also the one who motivates me to study my butt off. Thank you for never minding when I am so sketch and MIA and never being mad when I'm late to everything. You are a saint and I can't imagine being in a sorority that you weren't a part of.
To my Little,
I can't believe you actually claim the rest of us as your fam. Thank you for being flexible and go with the flow, because Lord knows I'm not. Thank your for making me a little bit cooler just by being your big, and thank you for loving me even when I'm being weird. You make me laugh and are never one to turn down a crazy night with your family. I'm so proud of you for making it through your ridiculously hard schedule. I can't wait for you to add to our crazy family.
And finally, to the Grand-little who doesn't know we exist yet:
Get ready. The University of Georgia is heaven on earth and we're here to make sure you see every part of it. We are obsessed with you and will overwhelm you at first, but you'll see. There ain't nothing better than being part of this fam.
