When you ask different people what love means to them, you will get a variety of answers back. They might respond that it is a feeling, something you express to another, an object etc. Honestly, I do not really know what love is like because I have not experienced my first love or heartbreak as a cause of a beautiful love. If I had to say what love means to me, right now I would say “the feeling of being happy with someone or the feeling that arises when you are with your favorite person.”
Love can be anything. You can love a certain song lyric, shirt, animal, person, TV show, or movie; the list is endless. It is nothing more than a feeling you have towards something that makes you happy and makes you feel alive. Realizing that you can have love for yourself, objects, your parents, or friends, makes me feel comfortable that I have not shared my love with a significant other. Now, I appreciate so many other things in my life, and I know that one day I can spread my love to another when I am ready. Maybe I have not loved myself enough to share my love with someone else. Do not get me wrong, I feel like I have had those feelings for some people, but maybe they were not able to accept my love or we both were not ready.
That is the thing about love, it is patient and it is kind.When we become ready for love, it comes and gives us the opportunity to share it with someone else. Think about it, love is omnipresent. You tell people that you love them each day, whether it be your parents, friends or significant lover. I am so blessed to have some of the people that I have in my life. love them to show my appreciation for them.
To truly appreciate life, we need to understand that love has no limits. Two intimate partners do not solely define love, it can be shared from mother to daughter, friend to friend etc. Love is love.Many people think they do not have someone to love because they do not have a partner; but that is not true. Where you do not have love in one part of your life you can make up for it in others. Surround yourself with people who make you feel great and alive. I am positive that you will feel loved.
“We accept the love we think we deserve” - Stephen Chbosky. I think this quote is so important. Everyone in this world deserves love and we should all share it. We can all find love in our life so do not get hung up if that boy or girl does not like you back. We all deserve a great love like the movies and we should never forget that or think that we do not deserve a love like that. There is so much life to live and many things to look forward to. Love will find its way to us; we just need to be patient and radiate positivity.
