As a child, my mom always warned me about the day I was going to get a crush. She would tell me all of the symptoms that arise from the bite of the "love bug". Over the span of my lifetime, I have come to realize that everything she said was right.
I apologize in advance for all of the butterflies and blush-filled moments you will experience throughout your crush.
Here are just a few of the symptoms of having a crush.
Brain activity normally vs. When you have a crush
Your heart feels like it skips a beat every time they walk into the room.
You could be sitting in the cafeteria or at your desk, but the second that their presence is made known in the room your stomach feels like it does a cartwheel and in the process crashes into your heart causing it to stop and pick up speed all at the same time.
As much as you try not to think about them, they will be in your head like 80% of the time.
You could be in class learning about the cell process in biology and you let your guard down for one second and before you know it your thinking about how they have cells and how you have cells and how your future children will have cells.
*EVERY* song that has any romantic influence suddenly makes sense.
All of those Disney songs suddenly sound like your inner thoughts are being sung. Bruno Mars becomes the king of expression for you. You relate to One Direction in a really weird way. The funny part is that at one point this was all just static noise in the background, now it’s the soundtrack to your life.
While this might be fun for a while, it does get scary and nerve wracking. Your nerves never know when to calm down, and forming a coherent sentence seems like rocket science. There is nothing wrong with being nervous -- its a part of life. Just remember, they are human too -- and they might be just as nervous as you are.
