Let's all admit that these last couple of weeks of quarantine have been kind of hard. As both an extrovert and introvert I thought that this was going to fly by and that I would be out in the world in no time. But as the stay at home order extended I slowly started becoming more secluded and in need of comfort from a friend.

Now is the perfect time to think about everything that you are lucky enough to have. This can include the experiences you have had, your friends, and family, or anyone that supports you. Unfortunately there are many people who aren't as lucky as you.
With that being said the next time you see someone struggling reach out and let them know that you are there and that they are being heard. With all the negativity in the world right now I think we could all use some love and kindness. It just takes one simple action or word to improve someone's day.

This would also be a great time to reconnect and show your friends that you care for them. Not only do you have this shared experience with them but you can also take this time and grow a deeper more meaningful relationship with them.
In my lifetime I have never experienced such a panic and hostility. I watch the news as people tear each other apart. I listen to the people surrounding me talk about the current situation and say one person is more right than the other. I can't speak for anyone else but all the surrounding negativity and hostility is causing me to question if this will ever end which can only make this time worse.

On the other hand I have seen many people on social media reaching out to others and encouraging them to share experience, knowledge, and be comfortable in their own skin. I think that showcasing the uplifting side of everyone's lives and how lucky each one of us is to be here is a great way to go about the situation. It shows that even in some of the darkest times there is always going to be something to celebrate. Life is good, maybe not at this point, but you have to make the most of it.

I know that being kind can be hard for some people right now because we all have so much going on in our lives and so much to worry about. With all this panic comes the fact that we aren't treating each other with the kindness and love that everyone deserves. But as the weeks grow longer the more support each and everyone needs, we need to realize the change starts with ourselves. Show kindness and love wherever you go and you will not regret it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
