Upon the arrival of Nate Feuerstein to the world of Christian rap, his music from the get-go was the REAL thing! Don't smell what I'm stepping in? Just turn the music up! (Too much?? Sorry, I'm just lost in the moment) :)
But seriously, while Nate, or "NF" was releasing under his actual name, many suggest he sounded like Eminem (and still does), which is who he has looked to as a singer/songwriter growing up. As his popularity has grown, he has not let the fame get to his head. In fact, the more he creates, the better it gets! He finds the difficult points of his life and shares it, to which others can relate. If there is a formula to lyrics and melodies, NF has indeed set the bar high!
Mansion, his first album, had much success with "Turn the Music Up", and "All I Have". A personal favorite from the album is "Can You Hold Me".. worth a listen!
In my opinion, Therapy Session, Nate's second album, exceeded his first! "Statement" gives me chills, it's just SO good! "Lost In The Moment", "Real" and "Intro 2" brought the level way up. Hearing "How Could You Leave Us" for the first time really hit my gut, as Nate told a story of a familial relationship. I remember exactly where I was.. and stopping in my busyness, had to just sit and take in the emotions as tears filled my eyes. It got REAL.
Perception, his third album, was highly successful, even featuring "Let You Down" on pop radio stations. If I'm being honest, that song is my least favorite. I LOVE "Intro III", "If You Want Love", and "Outro". "If you want love, you gon' have to go through the pain, If you want love, you gon' have to learn how to change, If you want trust, you gon' have to give some away". I mean.. Preach!
"I understand you gotta crawl before you get to your feet
But I been running for a while, they ain't ready for me
I know this prolly isn't really realistic
And honestly, I might not ever make a difference
But that don't make a difference, I'ma have to risk it
I've been crunchin' numbers, you ain't gotta be a mathematician".
-An excerpt from "When I Grow Up", his newest release, Nate expresses the odds may not be in his favor, but that isn't going to stop him. Baby steps lead to making dreams happen. Along the way, don't let pessimists discourage you from achieving your aspirations. What's paralyzing your dreams? Remember this: Breathe, face it, and keep on!
According to Spotify popularity of music played, every song of the 3 albums he's released have been uberpopular! But no matter his success, money is not Nate Feuerstein's paramount endeavor.
There's a genuine rawness in his music. I relish the undisguised sincerity he brings to each piece.. that's what makes him successful. He seeks to share the talent God gave him, and that's all that matters.
