There are times in your life where you will feel out of place or lost. It just seems like you don't really know who you are and you can't put a finger on what is wrong with you. It's as if you just woke up one morning and something felt different and you really could not put your finger on it. The reasons for this occurrence could be one of many, but the point is that there is something internally different about you and you don't know how to fix it.
The thing about losing yourself is that when you find yourself again, you can appreciate those who stuck by you and helped you find your way back. Not to mention, you can love yourself a little more once you realize that you are finally "you" again. Losing your way is completely acceptable and totally normal for anyone no matter the age. It's not important to dwell on what caused the internal change, what matters is finding yourself again. Although the root of the issue is important to identify, accept, and find peace with it is mainly important to just move past and try and be yourself again. Finding joy in the little things that made you happy before is essential. Whether that be just going for walks, being with friends, or just reading the small things make the biggest difference.
What I've learned is that it's okay to not know who you are. Sure there will be bumps in the road here and there and life will not go as planned, but if you lose your way that just means you will find your way again and be put onto a much greater path set out for you. When I finally felt like myself again, it was just from doing a compilation of many little things that made me happy and when I looked at myself in the mirror things inside me clicked once again. All of my feelings, thoughts and emotions from the past couple of months came together and I finally felt "right" again. So what I'm saying is that just because you may not feel like yourself and you feel as if nothing will help you bounce back, think differently and have hope. Go out and do something about it, don't settle for just being unhappy and indifferent. It may take a lot of time but just rely on those close to you, and don't be afraid to talk to people about how you're feeling (which was one of my biggest mistakes) because it'll make you feel so much better internally. No matter what has changed you from your normal smiling self to something you and others can't recognize, doesn't matter because you still are the same person inside. Be proactive but accept that it's okay to get a little lost sometimes.
