Dear Best Friend,
I know we have had some great times, some not so great times, and some times in-between, but I have loved it all. I know we aren't always together, but the time we spend apart makes the time we spent together even more special.
Remember all those nights we spent laying on the floor eating Ben & Jerry's and talking about how we should drop out of school and move to a tropical island? Or all those times we spent hours getting ready just to go out and realize we'd rather be binge watching Netflix and eating lots of popcorn? Remember all the times I came to you for advice and you gave me your honest opinion and I did the opposite of what you told me, but you stood by my side through it all? Thank you for those nights. And thank you for being my best friend even when we aren't able to do those things because miles and miles stand between us.
I know we don't talk every day, but we don't have to. That's how our friendship works. We just know that not every moment has to be spent texting or calling each other. Our friendship is timeless and no matter how long we go without seeing each other, nothing ever seems to change when we are reunited.
Thank you for knowing just what to say to get me through the worst of days even half way across the country. It is the worst feeling not being able to walk down the hall and lay on your floor and vent about our day. I miss all of our silly conversations that didn't have any point, but meant the world to me.
Thank you for making me laugh so hard I cry. Thank you for always being up for ice cream if it's 3 p.m. or 3 a.m. Thank you for giving the best hugs. And, even when you don't want to, saying goodbye to me. Thank you for knowing me, better than I know myself.
It's hard looking back at all our pictures and videos and knowing it will still be a long time before I see you, but as they say, distance makes the heart grow fonder. Thank you for giving me the greatest gift of all, a life long friend. Knowing you'll be just a phone call away, no matter how much distance stands between us, makes life seem a little less scary. I couldn't ask for a better forever partner in crime.
