Logan Paul's Insensitive Comeback

"Disgraced? What do you mean "disgraced"? I took a break, and I'm still lit as f**k."

I know that one can get up after falling from grace, but the current steps that you, Logan Paul, are pursuing are miscalculations.

"Disgrace? What you mean 'Disgrace?' I took a break. Besides, I'm still lit as fuck. What other YouTuber do you know can take a three week break and still gain a million subscribers?" said Logan Paul to the oracle, be it God or a random narrator in the sky, in a video that marked his return to the video sharing platform.

He starts off the video in torn bike short jeans, a fake Dumbledore-esque beard, while covered in dirt. The narrator calls him out for being a "choch" (slang for douchebag). He's crawling across sand as if he's regaining some strength and standing back on his own two feet. After an attempt at comedic banter between him and the narrator, the video opens with his usual introduction.

Not shortly after, he's plugging his merchandise and calling YouTube out for cutting his adsense in half. He also mentioned that he is being threatened with a lawsuit for four million dollars. It is believed to be about his "Maverick" merchandise line (which is a disgrace to the Mavericks himself).

He calls them out as well, saying, "For the person who is planning to sue us, I'm not going to give you four million dollars, but I will send you a free pair of Maverick joggers."

If your jaw hasn't dropped or you're not face-palming yet, just wait.

He talks about his parachute not opening while he was skydiving. Personally, I think some greater power was trying to spare humanity, but that's none of my business.

Paul goes on explaining his immersion in the suicide prevention world. He talks about how he met with people, talked with them (especially the man who attempted suicide off of the Golden Gate Bridge and lived), and pledged to donate one million dollars to suicide prevention organizations in a previous video.

That brief segway didn't last very long before he jumped back to his skydiving incident, coming in a future video. He also talks about his dad and how his brother didn't invite him to his 21st birthday.

Gee, I wonder why you weren't invited... #NotGoodBranding for his brother.

He also talks about "the haters" and how they're "stronger than ever". Paul then proceeds to sign a petition to remove himself from YouTube, "because fuck Logan Paul, right?"

Paul continues on to say this, which deserves first prize for something that makes zero sense: "I will never, ever, ever forget who I am at my core and no one can make me think I'm something otherwise. And, as long as I'm learning and improving and getting better as a person then we good."

If you're one hundred percent committed to who you are at your core, then how are you improving? You just said you're refusing to change because of the backlash but also changing because of what you learned from the backlash?

You need a better PR spokesperson to write your lines for you, my God.

He also goes on to say that through the chaos, he had a lot of support from former classmates, fellow social media stars, and even Dr. Phil.

Dr. Phil isn't even a real doctor, so I'm not taking a cent of his "we should forgive Logan Paul" spiel.

His fans have a lot to do with his sadly unwavering success, so he thanks them as well.

Logan also mentions how the cut down version of his Japan video went viral and one part of it is not true. He claims he did not bust a Gameboy and try to return it. It was already broken.

"I am an asshole for sure, but I would never do that."

Rounding out the video, he claims responsibility for "going too hard in Japan" and apologizes to Japan. He thanks his fans one more time to highlight their relentless support, and goes straight back into a merchandise plug.

Overall, his comeback video was less than appropriate. Sure, at some point, you have to continue you making jokes after everything, but he could've toned that way down. I probably would have recognized his apology as a valid one if he had strayed away from the laid back and humorous tone that swallowed the majority of the video. If he had made it a more reserved video, similar to his suicide prevention video, maybe I would think he actually cared.

Also, part of me wants to believe that he planned some sort of failure. Not necessarily as severe as the deceased body of a suicide victim, but something controversial enough to raise eyebrows. He mentions in his video that he talked about failure when he moved into his house, pleading that he wanted to fail. He wanted to take a blow and get back up because he deemed it admirable. If he really did this, it would be such a risky move, but it wouldn't shock me.

Logan Paul has since created more videos including: The Pauls respond to the KSI fight **called out** and Asking What College Students Think Of Logan Paul (in disguise).

He's trying to come out as the victim in this situation (just watch his Good Morning America interview: here), and, somehow, it's working for him with his audience. I mean, his audience is young and impressionable, so he's using that to manipulate them. It's really messed up. It makes me fear for the younger generation and how they'll acclimate to the real world. I think, paired with the already ever present self entitlement, they'll be more reckless and uncaring towards humankind.

But, hey, I'm not prophetic.

I'm just really pissed off.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
