Self- care is extremely important, especially when you feel overwhelmed by work or school. There are hundreds of ways to relax, but here are a few that I love (complete with stuff to buy, too):

Relax and drink some hot tea or cocoa

I recommend choosing a caffeine free, green variety if you go for tea. Grab your hot drink and do nothing but sip and chill out- no multi tasking!

Purchasable Recommendation : Yogi Stress Relief tea, with honey and lavender, for $3.13 on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Yogi-Lavender-Stress-Relief...

Wear your favorite pajamas or comfy clothes

If you want to relax, you gotta wear comfy clothes! It's hard to relax when you're uncomfortable. Bonus points if you wear slippers!

Purchasable Recommendation: Hanes Women's Cinched Leg Fleece Sweatpant from Walmart for around $6-12 https://www.walmart.com/ip/Hanes-Women-s-Cinched-L...

Journal

Grab a cute notebook or leather-bound journal and write down whatever you want. You could even sketch, as long as it makes you feel happy! You could talk about your day, write down what you're thankful for, draw something that makes you feel cozy; the possibilities are endless!

Purchasable Recommendation: Marble Journal with Gold Foil from DesignWorks Ink from Target for $6.99 https://www.target.com/p/marble-journal-with-gold-...

Put On a Face Mask

Put on a relaxing face mask, wait for a while, and rinse it off. Use a cheap one from Walmart or Target, or get something more luxurious from Sephora or Lush.

Purchasable Recommendation: Fresh Cupcake Face Mask from Lush for $9.95 http://www.lushusa.com/face/masks/cupcake/06095.ht...

Send a Letter to a Friend or Family Member

Especially if you're in college, sending letters to friends that live far away can make you feel really good, plus your friends will love hearing from you. If you wanna spend a bit more, send a small gift or care package.

Purchasable Recommendation: HUELE stationary set with 32 papers and 16 envelopes, from Amazon for $7.79 https://www.amazon.com/HUELE-Special-Writing-Stati...

Give Yourself a Home Manicure or Pedicure

Even if you don't paint your nails, caring for your nails is really important and can be really satisfying. Start by washing your hands, trim and file your nails, then paint your nails in a fun color or find a cool DIY design to do! Take your time and do your best!

Purchasable Recommendation: Wet 'n' Wild Shine Nail Color in Be More Pacific, $0.79 at Walgreens https://www.walgreens.com/store/c/wet-n-wild-wild-...

Treat Yourself to a Yummy Meal

Make your favorite recipe or go to your favorite restaurant. It doesn't have to be a fancy meal, just choose something you really love! You've earned it!

Burn Your Favorite Candle

Grab your favorite scented candle, burn it, and enjoy the smell. Simple as that!

Purchasable Recommendation: Quidditch Candle from Etsy shop, Geek Nest for $9 https://www.etsy.com/listing/209518174/quidditch-h...

Do Some Yoga

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating.
