Often we are swept up into day-to-day routines, adhering strictly to schedules until the point in the day where we fall into bed, only to wake the next day and start again. While we doddle through our lives, we often take little moments for granted and are unable to recognize those little blessings because we are unaware.
I have always been able to pick out the biggest blessings in my life, such going to Padua and JCU, being blessed with the most amazing siblings who are also my best friends, or passing a test I thought I had failed. But as I transition from being an adolescent into a young adult, I have been more aware of the little moments in my life. Whether it is a friend randomly buying me coffee or getting a moment to sit and journal in the midst of stressful week, these are the moments that I consider to be blessings. You might not think that a friend getting you a coffee is a big deal, but that action represents loving thoughtfulness, and deserves to be thought of as a blessing.
If we all take a moment to look back on our week, even on our day, we will be able to see the small moments which could be disregarded as just another day if not reflected on. I challenge you to take this moment to just think and find one small blessing. Write it down. Start a collection of the small blessings and at the end of each week, month, or year, read them. This is guaranteed to make you smile and show you how much God has blessed you with.
