The Lit Playlist Of Summer '16: Pop

Pop is filled with those guilty pleasure bangers that you secretly creep the radio for. Summer 2016 is no different. Here are some pop jams that are an important part of my turn up playlist for the summer.

1. DNCE - Cake by the Ocean

I've been hearing this track all over the radio. The catchy hook is undeniable. Maybe the Jonas Brothers fangirl is still alive in my heart, but I always love to see a Jo Bro win.

2. Drake ft. Wizkid & Kyla - One Dance

I love the reggae vibe of this song. So easy to dance to. And, like I said in the previous article, Drake has the Midas touch.

3. Fifth Harmony ft. Ty Dolla $ign - Work from Home

The hook is so repetitive but that it's borderline annoying. But, there's something about it that I dig. Maybe its the catchiness? Maybe it's the melody? The world may never know.

4. Fergie - M.I.L.F $

This fresh song just dropped, but I can already tell it's going to be a summer banger. And, who doesn't love Fergie?

5. Justin Timberlake - Can't Stop the Feeling

Justin Timberlake is one of those artists, like Drake, that I believe has the Midas touch. This song is infectious and super bubbly; perfect for summer.

6. Twenty One Pilots - Heathens

My sister put me on to their vibe. I dig it, perfect for the chill turn-up.

7. Rihanna - Needed Me

Great break-up song. It's one of those scream the lyrics in the club type songs.

8. Kent Jones - Don't Mind

This is a super cool song with an infectious melody of this song.

9. Alicia Keys - In Common

Super dope production on this song. Another one that is absolutely perfect to dance to.

10. Calvin Harris feat. Rihanna - This is What You Came For

This duo has proved that their a perfect combination to make a summer banger. First with "We Found Love" back in 2011, now with "This is What You Came For." Still just as infectious, and perfect for sing-alongs.

I hope my pop picks gave you a perfect playlist to keep your summer adventures going strong.

I'll never forget the day that someone told me these words: "Madison, I think you're a good friend to everyone but yourself." I stood there completely in awe of that statement. Before that day, I never really thought about being a friend to myself, and at the time, I didn't really know what it meant. Now, I realize that you can't fully be there for other people unless you're there for yourself, too. You can't show up for others until you're willing to show up for yourself.

Here are five things everyone should learn in order to be a better friend to themselves. These steps are hard, but they're so worth it.
