Change every sorry into a thank you
Instead of saying “I’m sorry I’m late,” try “thank you for waiting for me.” This changes your mindset as well as the person you are speaking with. You are recognizing and respecting the fact that even though you are late, they still waited, and they are realizing that you are gracious for it.
Turn negatives into positives
I’m sure you have all heard of the saying; think of the glass half full instead of half empty. I truly think this is a great concept. Try being more optimistic; change your outlook on life into a more positive one. If you feel yourself getting upset, or being pessimistic, take a second and recognize how this could improve or better you. Think to yourself “how can I benefit from this?”
Take 30 minutes every day for yourself
This could mean 30 minutes to relax and watch an episode of your favorite show on Netflix, or read the next chapter in the book that’s been sitting on your shelf for years, or even resting your eyes while listening to music. Whatever you find peaceful and fun. Make the time to take a breather.
Workout for 30 minutes every day
You can go on a run, do some yoga, take a dance class, do anything active. Instead of setting the goal to “lose 30 lbs.” just make the goal to stay fit and active. The most important part is that you are healthy, with that being said; the weight will come off if you need it to.
Learn something new
I cannot stress enough that no matter how long we are on this earth there is ALWAYS going to be something that we don’t know. This concept is something that I ponder a lot. There are all these different languages, cultures, facts that we will never know. Make it a goal this year to perhaps learn a new language, or take a class you never imagined being interested in, try a new recipe, anything. Reach outside your comfort zone.
Make a new friend
Learn something from them.
Make a budget plan for your money
Save it, spend it. Whatever you do, be smart about it.
Smile more
Laugh more, tell corny jokes and don’t forget you can’t take life too seriously. Be thankful. Complain less. Try to genuinely improve the person that you are.
