New year, new me. More like new year, same me, but better. This year, you'll see a lot lists with resolutions on them. Everywhere you turn people are trying to lose weight or do this or do that. Some of those resolutions are hard and unrealistic. Everyone wants to lose weight and everyone want to be a better version of themselves, but sometimes you need to take baby steps. Easy resolutions are the best because they are small things that you can change, but they will still make you a better person. Small things can make a big difference, don't forget that. So, here's to small things and to 2017 being better than 2016.
1. Drink more water
Our bodies need water to survive. Everyone I know, including myself, doesn't drink enough water on the daily. We're supposed to drink 8 eight-ounce glasses a day. Who do you know drinks that much? No one. This year, you should drink more water because it's good for you and your body.
2. Recycle more
Our planet is dying. And while drinking a lot of water is good for you, if you're drinking out of plastic bottles and throwing those bottles in the garbage, you're being counterproductive. I'm not staying stop using plastic products because honestly that's not an easy task, all I'm saying is be mindful for your environmental footprint. If you see something that has the recycle sign on it, don't throw it away lol It really is an easy task. Another way you can recycle is to reuse things more. If you are going to have a bottle of water, refill it a few times before you get rid of it. Maybe invest in a reusable water bottle instead.
3. Moisturize
The best way to keep your skin healthy and to not get wrinkles is to moisturize it. A lot of people are bad at moisturizing their whole body (me). However, it's a really small change that can have a really big long-term impact on your life and your skin. Good habits take time to form, and starting young can really help you figure out your life. Also, wrinkles.
4. Be frugal
Save your money! If you're like me and your parents help you out a little when it comes to your funds, remember that it's not forever. One day we will have to be real adults and use our money wisely, so how about starting early. Put some of your paycheck/allowance in your savings every month. Interest alone can really help you save your money. When you go shopping, think about what you're purchasing and if you could get the product for a cheaper price. Use savings apps to get you better deals. My mom has gotten, like, $200 from Walmart savings catcher, and I got my FitBit for 20% off with Target cartwheel. Use technology to your advantage. Also, try not to treat yourself too much. Save your money so that you can treat yourself to something bigger later on in life.
5. Be happy
Now this one isn't always easy, but you should make an effort to be happier this year. Remember that you're a strong indecent person that doesn't need anyone, but you do like people. Remember that you make your own luck and that you are the writer of your own story. You can change anything at any time, and you don't need the New Year to make something happen. You can start doing something different any day you want. You can do anything you set your mind to, and I'm rooting for you!
Happy New Year! May 2017 be the best year yet!
All my love,
Shan
