Millennials
A misfit in a ‘diverse’ society. Are you one? Read along and you shall see.
I live in a world where I don't fit in,
When I talk to people in my generation-I feel like I've lived in a den,
I don't know how to relate to people that don't care,
Sometimes it feels like I'm being a grizzly bear,
Rather than someone fun like the fair,
I promise I'm not boring-I am one who is full of dares,
But does anyone stop and really think about friendships,
It can be tough like war on a battleship,
Some people are so salty like chips,
Then cover it up with dip,
I'm not one to front,
I just wonder what life would be like if everyone put effort into people,
Deep down it seems like I'm the steeple,
Connecting on a deeper level is better than wasting time,
I may not be a dime,
But I'll take you in as mine,
And help you shine,
I am nothing more than a vine,
Sadly-not many are,
Perhaps a lot express so,
Don't be a crow,
My friend...grow,
The process may be slow,
We were once all soft like dough,
What happened? Was it all a show?
Or did I truly not know...
Each person I have met-I love so deeply,
I'm not talking cheaply,
A love I am pursuing is one Jesus has for us all,
Oh the pressure of having to be a doll,
Yet being myself is such a toll,
Carry on, just don't become a sushi roll,
I always feel set a part,
As if I am hung on a board & thrown at by a dart,
I know we all have hearts,
Why can't we all just use it like every other body part,
This isn't complex like art,
I can draw it out on a chart,
But for now...think deeper, feel deeper, & many will change the direction of there cart.
