A girl named Elizabeth never liked going home because her parents were either too busy to talk to her about her day or she felt neglected, She always chose to stay out with her friends. To her, "home" was just a place that provided a bed, a fridge full of food, and a place to do all of her laundry. Her parents were busy, but they still missed her presence and they desperately wanted her to spend time at home with the family. They begged and begged for her to stay home sometimes and chat, but she wanted to rush out of the house to do her own thing and live her own life.

One day, she was on her way home from school when she got a phone call. She picked up and listened to the desperate voice on the other line. She started to cry and she had to pull over onto the side of the road before she hung up.

Elizabeth had learned that her family got into a car accident and died instantly from the impact and the damage that it caused. Through her clouded mind and fogged vision, it finally hit her. The importance of not taking things for granted because things could end at any moment. She learned it the hard way and she lived the rest of her life with regret in her mind and in her heart. Although she suffered, she also applied that lesson to her life and every day after that drastic incident, she changed the way she looked at life and she lived every moment with a purpose. She came to know Jesus and lived the rest of her life with a bible in her hand and Jesus in her heart.

One of the worst things we can do on a daily basis is to take things for granted- our home, our family, our friends, our job, and even our lives. Anything can happen in the next few seconds, including death or loss. Today, I was pondering this subject and it really made my eyes open and realize that every single moment in life is precious. We cannot afford to forget that we are alive for a reason and we have a purpose in life. I am getting chills just thinking that my life could come to a halt and all of the tables could turn at any second. Anything could happen- literally anything. No, I am not saying that we should live the rest of our lives in constant fear that things could change. I am just saying that we should be aware and we should take this as a wake-up call that could help us live each day with a little bit more intention.

I have been doing quite a bit of research and reading it all came down to a couple bible verses that have helped me wake up from this oblivious state of mind.

1 Peter 2:9

Be ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that yet should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light: (KJV)

I like this verse because it is referring to the people who are living and have lived in this generation and how we are the chosen ones who should jump up and praise our Lord because He is the One who showed us the light upon the path of darkness with His Word. That reminds me of Psalm 119:105, which states, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” With that being stated, I believe it is very important to seize the moment and praise God in the act of it because, after all, He is the One who created time and everything in it because it all serves a purpose- so we can live and abide in Him and His Word so we can become better followers, leaders, and selves.

Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose. (KJV)

To me, this verse is saying that those who are His children and those who love Him work together and have a purpose. That purpose is to live by Him and by his Word and applying His parables and the lessons that we learn from the Bible to our own lives. We should use the Bible as a tool to help us with anything that comes up in our lives. If we are unsure of the reasons why we should live every moment with intention, we can utilize the Bible and figure it out.

1 Corinthians 10:31

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. (KJV)

This verse is pretty self-explanatory. It states that everything we do, no matter how little or how big it is, we should do it in the glory of God that shines on His children. We were created by Him because of his desire to do so and we are therefore brought into this world to glorify and praise His name. We can do that freely by pursuing our callings in different fields, such as doctor, lawyer, law enforcer, teacher, etc. We can do our jobs right and we can also witness to others and tell them about our wonderful God above us.

Although these Bible verses are more focused on purpose in life, it teaches about the purpose we serve on this beautiful earth.

James 4:14

Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? IT seven a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. (KJV)

This is a powerful verse stating that our life is like vapor- it can end and disappear at any moment in time. We are only pilgrims on this earth who live differently from the people who are not children of God. This is exactly why it is so very important to live every day with intention and make sure every intention is part of your special purpose on this earth because your life can end at any time.

Live life and always be thankful for this very day because God made it the way it is for a specific reason and He made you for a specific reason.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
