I feel satisfied when I am completely organized. I love organizing my closet, my room, and my life. I'm that person who makes To Do lists with reminders to make other lists. I make hand written lists as well as lists written on my phone because I want to make sure I don't forget any idea that pops into my mind. Call my crazy, but this is how I function. Being organized makes me feel like I really have my life in order and if I wasn't an organized person, I have no idea how I would get through the day.
One.
I have my daily routine. I wake up and pop my contacts in, wash my face, eat breakfast, and brush my teeth. I check what's on my agenda for the day. Speaking of which, I have a daily planner filled with the things I'm going to do each day and what time I'm going to do them. Just to ensure that I'm doing everything in a timely manner and that I remember, I set reminders on my phone of when I have to leave and such.
Two.
From elementary school until the end of college, I was the type of person that picked out their outfit for the next day so that I wouldn't have to rush in the morning. Obviously, my morning routine is specific so having any set backs would put a damper on my whole schedule. I don't like to feel stressed out so I like to make things easier on myself.
Three.
My closet is color coded. The pinks are with the pinks. The greens are with the greens. I want to make sure that when I'm picking an outfit, I make things as simple as possible. I organize my entire closet at least once a month because I like to know where everything is and have easy access to it all.
Four.
I sleep with my bed made so that I don't have to make it in the morning other than putting all the pillows back in their proper place. Sounds weird, but I read that Kevin Jonas used to do it and suddenly I didn't feel as abnormal as I thought. I don't even sleep under my comforter, I sleep on top of it with a blanket. Why? Because my room is way too hot.
It may sound like a mess or that I'm way over the top, but this strategy is helpful to me. I even go to my friend's houses and help them organize their closets. Not only am I a friend, but I provide a great service. Keep organized is the only way I function and I don't think that's going to change.
