Six-year-old Tiana has taken the world by storm with her motivational YouTube video explaining her feelings about her parents' recent divorce. Yes, throw Tiana in the same category with Kid President—just another young child who can see the world more clearly than most adults. She is wise beyond her years and shares some insight on things extremely relevant in our world today. Kids, they say the darnedest things!
"If I can be nice, I think all of us can be nice too."
Even after only six short years of life, Tiana has already mastered the "treat others how you would want to be treated" concept.
"I think you can settle your mean heights down to short heights."
Sometimes we just all need a reminder that no matter how angry or upset we are, regardless of the reason, we just have to put our differences aside and take the high road. It's easy to become consumed with our own issues, but by doing so, we are simply feeding our "mean heights." Think of the big picture—when we settle to "short heights," we're able to fit those broken pieces back together and begin to move on and reconcile relationships with others.
"I'm not trying to be mean, I'm not trying to be a bully, I'm trying to be steady."
Tiana is one of those people who isn't afraid to tell it like it is. All too easily, we get offended when people are just trying to give us some good, constructive criticism. Appreciate those bold people in your life; they only want to help you!
"If we live in a world where everyone is being mean, then everyone will be a monster in their future...we need everyone to be a person."
If we continue to live in a world where everyone is only concerned about getting even with someone, while we won't literally turn into monsters, we'll become an entirely egotistical society. It amazes me how Tiana sees the toxic effect that a negative attitude can have on society.
"My heart is something. Everyone else's heart is something, too."
Youare so very important, and everyoneelse is just as important. In the midst of all this, don't lose sight of that. We all get our feelings hurt, and we all have hearts. Don't value one heart over another, because they are all important.
