As a 90s baby, I grew up on Disney. Of course most life lessons are learned from experience, some of life's most valuable lessons were taught by Disney's most beloved characters.
1. The very things that hold you down are going to lift you up.
The things that weigh us down in life can motivate us. They can help us fly to new heights, literally just like Dumbo's oversized ears.
2. True beauty is found not in how one looks, but how one treats another.
Beauty & The Beast is a prime example of overlooking one's physical appearance and caring for them because of their inner beauty. So, before you go judging a book by its cover, remember the Beast was once a prince who shunned the old hag & look where that got him.
3. Hakuna Matata
What a wonderful phrase?! It means "no worries", for the rest of your days. Its our problem-free philosophy.
4. Always let your conscience be your guide.
So your conscience is knowing wrong from right, right? Right. Let your conscience guide you and be cautious of the consequences that come with each and every decision you make.
5. Life's full of tough choices, isn't it?
Somewhere between a rock and a hard place, you will find a sticky situation full of tough choices. Get over it. It happens. Just never let anyone take your voice.
6. Its okay to feel gloomy now and then..
..but try to look at the bright side in life. When life gets you down, eat some thistles, (or pizza, or whatever), pout it out, but try to get up and find the positive things in life.
7. OHANA
Ohana: (noun) also see : Family
Family: (Noun) no one gets left behind/forgotten. Family isn't defined by blood, but by love and acceptance.
8. Girl, you don't need a man!
Frozen should teach young girls the importance of friendships and relationship between sisters and family. Not your typical "Happily Ever After" fairytale ending with the handsome prince and some beautiful princess, cause it doesn't really work like that.
9. Just keep swimming.
Dooooooonnnnt YoooUUUU eEEvvverrrrrrr GggggiIIIVeeee UPPPPP. That's whale for "Don't ever give up". Dory lucked out by finding friends like Marlin & Nemo. Marlin & Nemo lucked out on finding Dory, because she is a true inspiration and should probably be a motivational speaker.
10. Don't let others take advantage of you.
If you leave your food or drinks unattended someone make poison you and take your heart to the Queen and you will never find your Prince Charming.
11. I can't go back to yesterday because I was a different person then.
Change is okay. Change is good. There is nothing in the past that you need today. Don't go back there. A new day is an opportunity for a new you, take it.
