"Gossip Girl" gave us more than just perfect eye candy. Yes, I’m referring to the one and only Chuck Bass. Outside our Netflix obsessed haze we fall into reality, but what can we take away from one of television’s most watched dramas?
Here’s the top five life lessons we have learned from the most fabulous anonymous writer this generation has ever seen. These life lessons totally contain spoilers, so watch before reading if you haven't finished the show!
1. Always put your dreams and goals high on the list of what is important.
Blair Waldorf never let anything or anyone stop her in her tracks, not even the handsome Chuck Bass. She took over her mother’s empire, established a sense of credibility, and always looked fierce while doing it.
2. Ladies, whatever you do, marry your very own Chuck Bass.
Some wise woman once said, keep your heels, head, and your standards high. Mr. Bass is obviously the ultimate romantic from his almost Empire State Building proposal to his risky Blair rescues. This not only refers to men, but life. If you want to be happy, you need to make it happen. If you want something bad enough you won’t fall short. Creating standards within your life is a part of becoming a mature adult.
3. Lying is not always a bad thing.
Now don’t take my words and run with them, but those little white lies can sometimes salvage someone’s feelings. In Dan’s case, it redeemed his entire existence for Serena. Think about what you want to say before you say it.
4. Best friends always come before minions.
I admire Blair Waldorf for many reasons. One of those being that she always had a scheme up her sleeve and three minions executing it for her while she sat on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and watched life go by. What a life, right? While she had her minions she always saved room for her best friend, Serena. Blair knew that there was no one else’s shoulder she’d rather cry on than S's. Through all the downfalls the duo had, they always prevailed. I like to think it was mainly because Blair never treated Serena as a slave, but instead as a sister.
5. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
Who else was shocked when "Gossip Girl" was finally revealed!? Spotted: Lonely Boy playing the entire Upper East Side without anyone knowing. Dan Humphrey held the Upper East Side in the palm of his hands and none of the characters ever suspected a thing. Clues ran together and you had your doubts, but in the end I think we can all learn a thing or two from Lonely Boy.
xoxo,
Gossip Girl (just kidding it’s Kayla Roberts)
