No matter what stage of life we are in, we can always benefit from the advice of others. As Meredith Grey once said,

"If there's just one piece of advice I can give you, it's this — when there's something you really want, fight for it. Don't give up. No matter how hopeless it seems. And when you've lost hope, ask yourself if 10 years from now, you're going to wish you gave it one more shot, because the best things in life, they don't come free."

Throughout the last 12 seasons of "Grey's Anatomy," we've loved, lost, laughed, cried and had our fair share of "dancing it out" with Meredith and Cristina. Even though "Grey's" has grown as a pop culture phenomenon over the years, I believe that the show is more than that, we have seen all of the characters grow from season to season, and we have learned a tremendous amount of life lessons along the way.

1. Never give up.

No matter how hard life gets, keep going at it. Think to yourself, "Will I regret not trying harder in 10 years?" Then realize that you just need to keep trying in order to succeed.

2. Don't feel like you aren't allowed to be upset every now and again.

I know this is kind of ironic coming from Meredith, but always leave room for yourself to be unhappy from time to time.

3. If you truly love someone, prove it.

Callie couldn't have said it better. You should never hurt the person you love or do something that will bring them down. Also, support your loved ones no matter what, because you know they are always there for you.

4. Find something you're passionate about and pursue it.

This lesson goes out to readers of all ages. Whether it's picking a major or career, to choosing to go back to school to change your career, you need to do something you love, no matter what sacrifices you have to make. Loving your occupation is one of the most important things.

5. You don't need to rely on others for your own happiness.

As much as your significant other means to you, they should not be your primary focus. You do not need to revolve your entire life around them, I promise. You need to put yourself first sometimes, no matter how hard it can be. This is something I struggled with in the past, and putting yourself will both increase your happiness and make you more successful in the long run.

6. Everything will work out in the long run.

Quit planning every second of your life, only doing things because it looks good on your resume. Have some fun every once in a while. You need a break sometimes, and everything will work out in the end.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
