Isn't life funny? We think we have everything all planned out, and then in one day, your whole plan can change. Just the other day I was talking with a friend, and he began talking about how weird life is. He said, "Life is just a story," and I agree 100 percent. You are born. You plan your whole life (even though things do change). You choose the course of your life, live, and then you die. Your story ends.
If you would have told me a year ago today I would be where I am now, I would have never believed you. We spend our time planning what we are going to do, who we are going to be, and how we are going to do it, and no matter how hard we try or how great we plan, there is always going to be a change.
A year ago today, I would have told you that I would be finishing up at MGCCC with my associates degree. Then, in May, I would have started cosmetology school at Paul Mitchell in Slidell, Los Angeles. I would have finished that up in 11 months, gotten my own place, started my own family with my past relationship, then, soon after, started my own business. Obviously, these plans have changed.
Yes, when some of these life plans changed, I didn't understand why, and I thought I would never be fully happy. I honestly didn't even know why I chose to change some of my life plans, but seeing things now, I am glad I did.
Looking at where I am now, I have finished up at MGCCC with my associates degree. In August, I will be moving in my own apartment with three great girls, and I will be attending the University of Southern Mississippi to hopefully receive my Masters in Accounting. I am no longer in that past relationship. My plans to open my own business have changed to plans to travel the world with a big accounting company and to start a family later.
Of course, these plans could change any day, just like how they already have changed in the past, but if they do, I have learned to just take it day by day. I have learned not to overwhelm myself with events that haven't happened yet. I am not saying do not think about the future at all and just live in the moment. What I am saying is do not stress over the future when it is most likely going to change anyways.
No matter how much you try and plan your life out, your plans are going to change. You can spend hours or years planning things out, but there is always going to be that one event or multiple events that changes everything. With that being said, live your life day-by-day. Of course, you have to plan some things for your future, but don't spend every day stressing and wondering about what is yet to come. If you do that, then you really aren't even living at all.
Matthew 6:34 says, "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."
Plans will change, and I have learned that it is okay. Make your story great.
Enjoy every moment of your life, the good and the bad. Don't worry so much about the future because everything happens for a reason.
"You don't always need a plan. Sometimes you just need to breathe, trust, let go, and see what happens." — Mandy Hale
