INTJ: Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, and Judging
The Myers-Briggs Personality Test categorizes people into four different categories, differentiating between Extraversion (E) and Introversion (I), Sensing (S) and Intuition (N), Thinking (T) and Feeling (F), and Judging (J) and Perceiving (P). With this test, people are able to recognize for aspects of one’s personality, making it a useful tool in the field of psychology. For example, this test can help figure out ways of life that would make someone more content with life.
Taking the test, I was told that I was an INTJ, one of the rarest personality types. As an INTJ, I am an introvert, intuitive, thinking, and judging. With this comes many strengths as weaknesses.
I am an independent person who uses my own logic to form my personal beliefs. It is difficult to change my stance regardless of the popularity of a certain belief. I am also hard-working. I become intensely dedicated to my work and will work towards the completion of a goal that I am completely passionate about. I am also open-minded to new ideas if there is evidence towards newly formed ideas. With this personality, I am also creative and imaginative, where I can use my current scenario in life to work towards the future.
Opposing these strengths, I have weaknesses. I am one to be arrogant, where I tend to close off myself when I have such a strong belief in a certain stance. I am also judgmental where I considered some thoughts to be illogical. As an INTJ, I am over analytical where I attempt to read everyone’s minds by judging each action they do. Lastly, I am not fond of environments that are structured, preventing me from my own growth.
As I said previously, INTJs are the rarest personality type provided by Myers-Briggs, and to bluntly describe it, it sometimes sucks. It is difficult for outsiders to fully understand and relate to us. At a first glance, we may be snobby or rude. Our face may not depict any emotions and you may be offended, but please do not take it personally.
That is just who we are. We are so caught up in our own thoughts that we sometimes forget to portray it. Because of this, it is difficult for us to find our true friends, but once we do, we cling on. We want people who are in for the long ride and to help us with our growth as humans. If these types of friendships cannot be found, then we work better independently as our personality cannot be held down by someone holding us back.
