Dear me,
It’s been a long time since we actually talked, but sometimes you have to step back and actually look at yourself. Do you realize the way your hair glistens in the sunlight is more beautiful than the sunset itself? Your voice is like the ocean, the way it goes from calm and collected to crashing on the shore. Your beauty isn’t all that defines you, but you don’t think it’s actually there, so let’s finish focusing on that. Your skin has no flaws, no matter how you pick at it. You were made to be how you’re supposed to be: pimples, scars, dark skin, light skin, everything. You are stunning. Look at yourself in the mirror. You see that fat on your body? That’s your fat. That’s part of you. Who cares if it’s really there? No one really does. And, if someone questions it and makes fun of you for it, they’re irrelevant. Don’t let the negativity in your life; you only have one. You have fat, you’re not fat and it’s only an adjective. You need to just accept it, lose some of it if you want to and gain some of it if you want to. Only do it for you. Don’t do it for anyone else but yourself.
Now let’s pick at your insides. That heart? Man, it’s big. You love so much, and are scared of someone loving you back. What if they don’t really like you? What if they are only being sympathetic towards you? What if? What if? What if? What if they think the same exact way you do? What if they’re nervous to talk to you, not just ignoring you? What if the positive things really do happen, and you stop being so hard on yourself? Because, we’re all human beings, and we all have feelings.
You’re intelligent, you’re kind to those who deserve it and you’re just altogether put together. Why can’t you grasp the concept of your perfection? Wait, you know why. It’s because you can’t handle someone not loving you as much as you love them. And, you know what? It’s perfectly okay to love someone more – why does it really matter? You’re who you are, and that’s who you’re meant to be. You have brains that have gotten you through so many years of life and a spirit guiding you forward, keep the good vibes inside and show them through your actions.
I need you to just stop now. Look at yourself, think about all your accomplishments. Where are you now? In work, school, friendships; even in your videogames. Just look at how far you’ve gotten, what achievements you’ve made. Be proud of them. You’ve done something in your life. You’ve made achievements, even if the achievement is making it to this next day. Make a goal to make it to the next. Make it a goal to find that you’re perfect how you are.
