An open letter to myself
Myself

Read this when you're having an off day, a good day, looking for advice, to cheer yourself up, or just to remind yourself that everything is okay.

DO THINGS:

Instead of sleeping, or watching ANOTHER season of Gilmore Girls go out and hang out with people, go do crazy (but not too crazy) things with friends. You'll regret missing out on the opportunity. GO LIIIIIIIIIVE.

SPEND TIME WITH YOUR FAMILY:

Because who is really going to be there for you when you have hit rock bottom, or have a plague that nobody wants to be around, or who is not going to judge you for ugly crying? Family. Spend lots of time with them, take lots of pictures, and make many memories.

MISTAKES ARE OKAY:

You'll make tons of mistakes in life. DO NOT BEAT YOURSELF UP OVER THEM! Learn from the mistakes that you have made, and let others experience their own. So next time DO NOT drink 4 cups of coffee at 8pm just because you thought it was a good idea. Because the all nighter you had afterwards was not.

TREAT YO' SELF:

But not too much! Go buy your over priced makeup because it makes you happy. Or get your nails done even though you know you'll immediately start biting your fake nails to get them off asap. AND buy those new pairs of shoes even though you'll forget you even owned them in about a month.

VENT:

Seriously do it when you need to, DON'T hold things in. You'll regret it if you do.

USE YOUR VOICE:

If you don't agree with something, speak up. Say what is on your mind.

LAUGH:

DO THIS EVERY DAY. Laugh until you cry, it's good for your soul, I swear. Laugh at your own jokes. Laugh when you mess something up. Laugh is a key word.

MAKE NEW FRIENDS:

Because friends are what get you through life. Talk to people you usually wouldn't talk to, talk to the person who sits by themselves, talk to the person who is shy, talk to the person who is blasting Fetty Wap and hopefully you guys can listen to trap music together, talk to anyone, someone, make a friend!!

DO NOT LET ANYONE KEEP YOU DOWN:

Don't be a negative person, stay positive even when it's hard. Don't let someone ruin you just because they are having a bad day, don't let the customer who just yelled at you because they don't agree with the price of a belt get you down, or McDonalds because they didn't give you enough bbq sauce with your chicky nugs. Just anything, don't let it ruin you.

TREAT YOUR BODY WELL:

You should probably stop eating so many chicky nugs because it'll catch up with you. Do that 5 mile walk even if your body is crying before, during, and after it.

LEARN NEW THINGS:

Even if it's something you might not have any interest in, learn about it.

MONEY:

Be very wise with it.

DON'T LET YOUR ANXIETY RUIN YOU:

Breathe. It's just a bad moment, not a bad life, you got this.

BE PROUD OF YOURSELF:

You're doing an AWESOME job in life. No matter what has happened, you're doing a good job.

You're gonna have bad days, and good days but follow these simple rules and you'll be set.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
