Dear younger self,
There will be a day when you will see how far you've come. You'll realize how fast your life is passing by, and how there will always be more exciting things to come. Many things change: you lose friends, gain friends, make new memories, forget some old memories, move, travel, cry, and laugh. Don't take your life for granted. Learn to appreciate everything. There will come times where you feel so lost and alone, but please never give up hope. You will go through some tough situations but know that you will come out a better person.
Reflecting on the past now has showed me what a strong person you are. You are capable of taking on any challenge, going through loss, and learning to find the positives. Never doubt yourself. You are strong, beautiful, and worthy. I know at times it is hard to feel valued. It is easy to let yourself blend into the background and disappear for a while. It's easy to believe other people when they put you down. There will be a few times that you will experience being bullied. I guarantee that there will always be someone out there to put you down. Don't listen to the voice that tells you that you are nothing. You are a beautiful person inside and out.
The best advice that I can give you is to be yourself. Don't let anyone block out your light. Let your little light shine. Share your talents with the world. Let your voice be heard. Dare to be different. Don't just get involved with everything that the crowd is doing. Don't get caught up in the idea to be cool or popular. Just be yourself, and you will find that nothing else matters. Stop letting other people's opinions of you change what you think of yourself. Sometimes you have to learn that all that really matters is what you think of yourself at the end of the day.
I am here to tell you that life isn't going to be easy. You are going to have many ups and downs. There are times where you will feel like giving up. As the future you, I am here to tell you that the future is incredible. You will have amazing friends, a loving boyfriend, a new family, new experiences, and a lot of things to look forward to. The future is very promising. Keep the faith and never lose your hope. Even I am looking forward to where we will go in the future. Yes, my life now is still difficult at times. There will always be obstacles to get over. All I ask is that you believe in yourself, look forward to new experiences, try new things, laugh, cry, and hold on to the hope you have. One day you will be very proud of how far you've come.
