"Every day is a new opportunity to create the life you imagine, to dream big, to play, to reach for the stars, to celebrate life and follow your heart."
As soon as I read this quote I automatically thought of a specific professor because she would always say something along these lines to me and made me realize how important it is to play each and every day and to always reach for the stars.
Dear Professor,
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. I do not think I could ever say those two words enough. You have become such an inspiration to me without even realizing it. You helped me and my family modify our lives with just introducing to me one simple book. The book was titled FISH! When you first said that name to me I was thinking what in the world is she telling me about? Why is she telling me about what looks like a children's book, it doesn't look like it could be anymore then a hundred pages.
Little did I know this professor and FISH! would transform my life and would motivate me to have others use it. This taught me how to live a more positive life, FISH! taught me how to choose your attitude, and to play, and to be there, and to make their day. These are elements I find myself saying to myself everyday when things seems to get a little tough, I have encouraged my family members to do it and together we practice Fish! These are elements to use in your everyday life, in the classroom, at work, with your family, and so many more things.
Whenever something positive would happen in my life I would want to come to your office automatically to tell you about it because you would make it seem ten times better even though it was already wonderful. Whenever I am told you will be speaking somewhere or will be running an event, I always make sure I will be able to attend because I know it will be wonderful.
You also taught me that not everyone is going to have such a big heart and that is okay. That I need to embrace their emotions just as much as I embrace my positivity and happinesses, that I just need to be a little nicer to those people because that is when you truly push yourself and find out who you are.
I think back on my freshmen year often and compare it to my sophomore year and my junior year, during my sophomore year was when I met you, that is when I saw myself truly start to grow as a person. You were the starting point of that, you showed me an aspect in my life that needed to be changed that I was not even aware needed to be changed.
Sincerely,
A Thankful Student
