It's almost time for winter break and I couldn't be more excited! But when I go home, sometimes I feel so bored because I don't know what to do so I end up just binge-watching a show or spend quite a bit of time scrolling through social media. I don't want to do that anymore, and I'm sure many of you would rather be doing other things too. That's why I want to do something that I can do in the comfort of my home that doesn't require spending hours on the internet. I plan on doing all of these things during my break and I encourage you to give some of these things a try.
1. Read a book
I've never been a huge reader, but I want to try to read at least 5 books over the break.
2. Practice your cooking skills
This may require the internet if you want to follow a specific recipe, but why not just experiment?
3. Play solitaire
This could get really boring or really frustrating quickly, so don't spend hours doing this.
5. Wash the dishes by hand
Don't just throw your dishes in the dishwasher and call it a day. Wash your dishes by hand while listening to some music, it's pretty relaxing, unless there's something sticking to the pan, then that's no fun.
6. Organize your closet
I definitely like to do this a lot because then it gives me a chance to go through the things that I have and maybe donate things that I don't like or don't fit me anymore.
8. Exercise
I don't recommend running around the house, but maybe doing some pushups or squats here and there won't be too bad.
9. Call a friend or family member
It can get lonely if you're alone, so call up a friend you haven't talked to in awhile or your grandmother.
10. Rearrange your bedroom
You could rearrange any room, but make sure you plan it out and don't give up halfway through when there's furniture everywhere.
11. Walk down the streetÂ
I know this isn't exactly in the house, but it's still something to do that's close to home.
12. Meditate/pray
It's important to recharge the mind and the soul. Take some time to pray or meditate during the break.
13. Take photos of objects around you
This could be a fun thing to do to work on your photography skills. I challenge you to make ordinary objects look like art.
16. Write a letter
It could be to someone in particular or maybe a letter to yourself. It's up to you if you want to send it, but have fun with it.
18. Knit a scarf
If you don't know how to knit, you can use the internet, but I highly encourage trying it.
20. Write some poetry
Even if you're awful at poetry, try it. You should always try to improve the things that you're not good at.
